20/23 Citizens to devour Toffees

Everton have won just one of their last six Premier League games

Premier League leaders Manchester City travel to Merseyside to take on Everton at Goodison Park on Tuesday night. The Citizens will be hoping to maintain, or even extend, their three point advantage over rivals Manchester United at the top of the table.

David Moyes will be without Sylvain Distin, Phil Jagielka, Seamus Coleman, Leon Osman, Jack Rodwell and Ross Barkley. Diniyar Bilyaletdinov, meanwhile, has completed his move to Russian side Spartak Moscow. Landon Donovan has made a positive impact in his second loan spell and is expected to start for the hosts.

Yaya Toure and Kolo Toure are away on international duty but Vincent Kompany will return from suspension to captain the Citizens. Mario Balotelli, however, continues to serve a ban of his own.

Currently sitting in 14th place, Everton have won just one of their last six Premier League games and they will be looking to record only their fourth home win of the season. Over two months have passed since the Toffees scored more than once in a Premier League game and not one of their players has scored more than three league goals. William Hill and Ladbrokes offer 13/8 on Manchester City to keep a clean sheet.

At the other end, Everton have been relatively solid all season – only Liverpool, Sunderland and the league’s top four have conceded fewer this campaign. They have only once conceded more than two goals in a game (against Chelsea) and City will have to be at their best to break them down. Bet Victor’s 10/11 looks excellent value for there to be fewer than 2.5 goals in the match.

After Tuesday’s game, Manchester City will play Fulham, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Swansea City in a run of fixtures that could potentially see them place one hand on the Premier League trophy. Roberto Mancini will be desperate for all three points at Goodison and the return of Kompany, along with the absence of some key Everton players, make Boylesports’ odds of 20/23 very tempting indeed for the away side to win.
