3/1 that outburst ends Cole's England career

The Chelsea player is 3/1 not to play for his country again

The Everton defender, Leighton Baines, is 5/4 (from 2/1) with bookmaker Coral to start England's World Cup qualifier against San Marino later this month, after fellow left-back, Ashley Cole, tweeted derogatory words about the Football Association today. The Chelsea player is 3/1 not to play for his country again after his online outburst.

"Ashley Cole quickly deleted his attack on the FA, but the damage may have been done, and the 2/1 about Leighton Baines filling the left-back spot against San Marino was soon snapped up," Coral's David Stevens told Football Betting News.

"England boss, Roy Hodgson, stood by John Terry before the Chelsea man announced his international retirement, and may show Cole the same support, but even the latter's apology to the FA may not prevent the governing body putting pressure on the manager to act," added Stevens.
