Alexis odds-on for Bayern switch

Alexis Sanchez is being strongly linked with a move away from Arsenal this summer and the bookmakers seem confident he could be in line for a move to Bayern Munich. The Chilean superstar has just one year remaining on his current Arsenal deal and with no Champions League football on the cards next season, he could well look to move on. A number of top clubs have been linked with his signature but it's the German champions who appear to be leading the race.

At present, Sanchez is odds-on with both Skybet and Paddy Power to make the move to the Bundesliga giants. Despite Bayern already possessing a wealth of attacking talent, the likes of Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are not getting any younger and pretty much any side in World football would welcome a player of Sanchez's quality with open arms. Despite dominance in the Bundesliga again this season, Bayern have fallen short in the Champions League under Carlo Ancelotti and will certainly look to bolster his squad this summer to prepare for a proper assault on the competition next season.

Bayern's hopes of luring Sanchez to the Allianz Arena could also be boosted by Arturo Vidal. The 30-year-old is an international teammate of the Arsenal man and in an interview with Barcelona-based newspaper Sport, Vidal stated: "Of course I would like him to come because he is an extraordinary player.

"He is doing a great job at Arsenal. I think he still needs to take that step forward to fight to be among the best in the world and, in order for that to happen, he has to join the best team in the world. "Whenever they [Bayern executives] have asked me, I've always said that he is the player that needs to arrive here. He has one year left on his contract. Everyone wants him now because it's easier to pay that money now rather than if he had three years left on his contract.

"We hope he takes the best decision for him and for Chile too, because he is a player that helps us a lot."

Sanchez's contract situation effectively means that unless he agrees a new deal, Arsenal will either have to sell him this summer or run the risk of loosing him for free next summer. With no Champions League football on offer next season, it appears unlikely that Sanchez will extend his current contract and Skybet have him priced at 6/4 to still be an Arsenal player beyond the end of the summer transfer window.

Though Bayern are the clear favourites in the race to sign Sanchez, he has also been linked with a move elsewhere in the Premier League namingly to either Manchester City or Chelsea. The 28-year-old has previously played under City boss Pep Guardiola during his spell at Barcelona and is just 11/4 with Paddy Power to link up with Pep again come the end of the transfer window. Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has also been credited with an interest but it remains to be seen whether Arsenal would be willing to sell to a Premier League rival.
