Arsenal still not title favourites

Arsenal are still yet to convince the bookmakers of their title credentials despite picking up another impressive win on Saturday which puts them four points clear of their nearest rivals after nine wins from their opening 12 games.

The Gunners saw off fifth place Southampton with a 2-0 victory (thanks to an outrageous gaffe from Saints keeper Artur Boruc) but although they continue to impress they remain a best price of 7/2 with Betfred to lift the title come the end of the season.

The team directly behind them is still Liverpool after their thrilling draw in the Merseyside derby but the bookies still do not see them challenging for the famous trophy when summer approaches as the Reds are available at 8/1 with Ladbrokes to win their first Premier League crown.

The favourites for the title are Manchester City after their ruthless 6-0 win over Tottenham at the Etihad on Sunday afternoon. Manuel Pellegrini’s side are still only in fourth place and remain six points off the top of the table but such was the level of performance against Spurs the best price on them regaining the Premier League title is just 9/5 with Paddy Power.
