Bayern 4/1 to retain Champions League title
Bayern Munich are 4/1 with Sky Bet to be the first side to retain the Champions League after edging Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the final at Wembley.
Arjen Robben struck late to secure the victory which keeps them on course for a first ever treble, with Stuttgart awaiting in the DFB Pokal Cup final next weekend, leaving incoming manager Pep Guardiola with some big boots to fill as Jupp Heynckes bows out on a high.
The German champions, who started their run at 12/1 to lift the trophy, are now joint favourites with Barcelona for next season’s edition, followed by Real Madrid (9/2) and then English trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City (all 10/1).
Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer said: “With Guardiola on his way along with one of the game’s hottest prospects Mario Gotze, Bayern are going to be the team to beat next season.
“However, we’ve seen so many quality sides fail to live up to the expectation of retaining Europe’s top-tier title, with not even the great Barca side managing it, while transfer dealings could impact the market with the likes of City and Real looking to rebuild under new managers.”
