Betting suggests Falcao to replace Rooney at United
With the Premier League wrapped up and the Champions League set to be contested by clubs from Spain and Germany the top teams will already be prepping their summer shopping lists.
Hitman Radamel Falcao has been much sought after by Europe’s elite but he is now favourite at 9/4 to join Manchester United, whilst red devils double act Rooney and Nani look set to leave for PSG.
Falcao is considered by many to be the most lethal striker in the world and current European Champions Chelsea have been long term favourites to sign the Columbian. However, Manchester United have superseded their Premier League rivals and now look odds on with Paddy Power to be the next destination for the £50million player. Chelsea are now at 3/1 to sign the striker, with Real Madrid at 5/1 and Man City at 6/1.
Whilst Falcao looks set to be headed to England in the summer two players who are looking likely to be headed out the country are Wayne Rooney and Luis Nani. After being benched in the Champions League Quarter Final there was significant speculation around Rooney leaving United and the odds have plummeted to 5/6 on the striker heading to PSG. The move would see him link up with David Beckham and co at the oil rich soon to be French Champions.
Want away winger Nani is also now odds on to be joining him at odds of 11/8 to move to PSG. However, there is also a suggestion Nani could be used a make-weight in the Falcao deal and is at odds of 11/2 to be joining Atletico Madrid. Sir Alex isn’t one to shirk making tough choices and the legendary manager maybe thinking about a clear out after the early Champions League exit. Paddy Power are giving odds of 5/6 that over 4.5 first team players will leave the club in the 2013 transfer window.
A Paddy Power spokesman told Football Betting News; “Falcao and Van Persie would be a frankly terrifying proposition up front and Sir Alex looks like he is willing to put his neck on the line to bring in the £50million man. If Falcao comes in then our Wayne will be questioning the pecking order at the club and may well see PSG as the best way out, wonder if him and Becks will plane-pool?”
