Blues' Capital One Cup odds slashed
Sky Bet have cut Chelsea from 4/1 to 6/4 in their Capital One Cup outright betting after beating Manchester United 5-4 after extra-time on Wednesday night.
The Blues came from behind three times before ousting the pre-round 6/1 second favourites to set up a quarter-final date at Elland Road with Leeds.
Their chances have been helped by upsets for supposed fellow contenders Liverpool and Tottenham, who were 13/2 and 7/1 respectively before their defeats to Swansea and Norwich.
Arsenal are the 2/1 second favourites after being handed a trip to the lowest-ranked side left in the tournament, Bradford, who are now 100/1 to lift the trophy having started the tournament at 2000/1.
Aston Villa are 8/1 third favourites ahead of their trip to Norwich (14/1), while Swansea are 10/1 after being handed a home tie with Middlesbrough (16/1)
Sky Bet’s Chris Spicer told Football Betting News: “Chelsea have overcome the most difficult hurdle that they’re likely to face in the competition in beating United, but certainly put out a strong side as they looked to avenge the weekend’s defeat.
”They’re our strong favourites given no other side left in the competition has won a single trophy in seven years, but the lower league sides will certainly be relishing the challenge and have a chance on home turf if taken lightly.”
