Bookies expect Hart to come good
England goalkeeper Joe Hart may be at the centre of much discussion in the media at the moment as his form for both club and country seems to have suffered of late, but he remains the shortest price of any player to be in Roy Hodgson’s squad for next year’s World Cup in Brazil.
The Manchester City shot-stopper has been heavily criticised in some areas after blunders against Scotland at Wembley and against Cardiff in the Premier League but he is still a best price of 1/33 with Sky Bet to be on the plane to Brazil in a few months’ time. This is a much lower price than any other regulars in the team such as Wayne Rooney, Ashley Cole or captain Steven Gerrard which shows the faith the bookies have in England’s number one.
Hart kept a clean sheet in his last outing as City saw-off Hull 2-0 last Saturday and he is expected to have another comfortable night in goal for England against Moldova on Friday at Wembley. The Three Lions are a best price of 9/20 with Ladbrokes to win to nil against the European minnows and Hart may have little to nothing to do over the evening.
England won the reverse fixture 5-0 at the beginning of the qualifying campaign and are 17/10 with Ladbrokes with a -3 handicap on Friday night which looks a superb price.
