Bookies expect Moyes to last the season after CL fight back

Manchester United’s stirring 3-0 win over Olympiakos on Wednesday evening to see them into the quarter-finals of the Champions League seems to have kept David Moyes in his job for the coming months as the bookies fully expect him to see out the season.

There had been talk that a failure to see-off the Greek side would cost the Scot his position as manager but United’s impressive win has at least postponed a potential sacking as Bet Victor make Moyes a lengthy 10/3 to be ousted before the end of May this year; for his stay at Old Trafford to last over a year the same bookmaker will provide just 1/5.

The result on Wednesday has hardly managed to change the bookies’ opinions of his struggling team though as they are now the longest price of any of the eight teams left in the Champions League. Coral are offering a mammoth 20/1 on United winning the competition and although a big price, there will not be many United fans who truly think they can outlast the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

United’s next game is away to West Ham in the Premier League, a clash they are marginally odds-on to win at a best price of 10/11 with Boyle Sports.
