Bookies report gamble on AVB in Premier League sack race

It is 5/6 that AVB is still at the helm on Christmas day

Andre Villas-Boas has been slashed in the managerial sack race according to Ladbrokes.

After failing to record a win yet in the Premier League Spurs' new boss has been subject to a nationwide gamble in the next manager to leave market, seeing his odds collapse from 14/1 on Saturday morning to just 6/1 by full time.

It is 5/6 that AVB is still at the helm on Christmas day and 2/1 he makes it through to the end of the season. However AVB can breathe a slight sigh of relief as it's Nigel Adkins who's the 11/4 favourite for the chop first.

Spurs' odds of a top four finish this season have drifted out to 10/3 in the market with rivals Arsenal edging favouritism for the elusive fourth spot at 4/5.

Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes told Football Betting News: "Punters don't see Spurs' form picking up any time soon and they're piling into AVB to take the blame."
