Celtic odds-against for Champions League qualification
Celtic are now odds-against to make it through to the Champions League group stages after their shock 2-0 defeat to Shakhter Karagandy in the first leg of their play-off tie in Kazakhstan.
The Scottish champions spurned a number of chances to score at the Shakhtyor Stadium and that has cost them significantly with their best price to qualify for the next stage now 6/5 with Bet365.
There will be plenty of fans in the green half of Glasgow who see this as an excellent opportunity with the Bhoys just needing to reverse the scoreline to take the tie into extra-time and potentially penalties.
Celtic are certainly expected to win the home leg of their tie with a best price of 2/7 with Ladbrokes on them beating the Kazakh champions at Celtic Park when they meet on Wednesday 28th August, however, the bookies clearly do not think they will win by a considerable enough margin to continue in the tournament.
Neil Lennon clearly seems to be feeling the loss of star players Victor Wanyama and Gary Hooper who left for the English Premier League this summer and have threatened their chances of European success.
