City 5/4 favourites for Manchester derby

Manchester United welcome Manchester City to Old Trafford on Tuesday evening for a huge Premier League clash and with all three potential outcomes available at odds-against there is plenty of potential to make some money out of the contests.

City go in as favourites despite being the away side after winning their last their last three league matches and not conceding a goal in their last four. Manuel Pellegrini’s men are a best price of 5/4 with Paddy Power to keep that winning run going on Tuesday and there will be plenty on the blue half of the city thinking that represents excellent value, especially as City have triumphed on each of their last two league visits to Old Trafford.

United have mustered up a bit of form and confidence themselves after their rousing 3-0 defeat of Olympiakos last week was followed by victory at West Ham on Saturday. The bookies do not fancy them to succeed again tonight though as the Red Devils are available at a fairly lengthy 12/5 with Bet365.

The draw certainly seems the least likely outcome as these two have not ended a game level at Old Trafford since 2005. For that to come to pass this time around Sky Bet will offer 13/5 which I should not think will be attracting too much custom.

One thing the bookmakers are expecting is for defences to be sorely tested and Over 2.5 goals is a best price of just 4/6 with Betfred. Both teams to score is a similarly skinny price of 4/7 with Bet Victor.
