City in fourth but favourites for Premier League

Despite being six points off the pace  and in fourth place in the division, Manchester City are now favourites to lift the title come the end of the season thanks to their games in hand over their rivals.

City may be six points behind the leaders Chelsea but the League Cup winners have three games in hand over Jose Mourinho’s side and the bookmakers clearly expect them to use them to full affect as they are a best price of just 6/4 with Paddy Power to lift the trophy.

Chelsea clearly remain in the box seat though and are not far behind in the betting at a best price of 2/1 with Bet Victor. The Blues showed their vulnerability in their loss to Aston Villa last time out and face tough fixtures in the near future against Arsenal and away to Liverpool.

It is Liverpool who are the other serious contenders according to the bookies as they are just four points behind Chelsea with a game in hand as well. The Reds have been in fabulous form and have the advantage of hosting both Chelsea and City before the end of the season. Brendan Rodgers has been receiving rave reviews for his work at Anfield and his side are now 10/3 with Bet365 to go all the way and win the Premier League.
