City most fancied of Premier League sides

With all four English teams having progressed into the knockout stage of the Champions League it is Manchester City who are the shortest price of them to win the competition after their sensational win away to defending champions Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s men may have looked out of their depth at home to the Bavarians earlier in the competition but they have clearly learned from their mistakes and came from two goals behind to win 3-2 at the Allianz Arena. They are now a best price of 14/1 to win the tournament with Paddy Power despite the fact that their qualification for the last 16 represents their best ever performance in the competition.

Chelsea are next in line of the British teams at 16/1 with Betfred having finished top of a low quality Group E. The Blues were not at their best through the group stage but have Jose Mourinho in the dugout which makes a big difference in this competition.

Manchester United have enjoyed an encouraging first European campaign under David Moyes thus far but their ropey league form has put the bookmakers off and they remain a best price of 19/1 with 888sport for the Champions League.

Arsenal are now the longest price of any English time after their defeat away to Napoli on Wednesday meant that they qualified as runners-up from Group F behind Borussia Dortmund. The Gunners are a lengthy 21/1 with 888sport to finally win their first Champions League.
