City now odds-on favourites for FA Cup
Manchester City are now odds-on to lift the FA Cup this season after dumping Chelsea out of the competition and being handed a favourable draw in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men were impressive as they saw off Chelsea 2-0 on Saturday evening, despite making a number of changes to their first XI and their reward is a contest with Wigan at the Etihad in the last eight. As such they are now a best price of just 10/11 with Sky Bet to lift the trophy this year.
Of course this will be a rematch of last year’s final which was won by Wigan but the now-Championship side are even more distant second favourites than they were at Wembley in 2013.
City’s odds for the tournament are all the shorter because their two closest rivals to lift the trophy; Arsenal and Everton, have been drawn together in the quarter-finals. The Gunners are now second favourites to win the cup at 3/1 with Betfred and the Toffees are at 7/1 with Bet365.
The only other Premier League sides left in the competition are Sunderland who are available at 16/1 with Bet Victor and Hull who meet Brighton for a place in the quarter-finals on Monday evening and are 25/1 with Ladbrokes to lift the trophy.
