Di Matteo 2/1 to be gone by New Year's Day

Di Matteo is now the 4/9 favourite to be the first Premier League managerial casualty.

Roberto Di Matteo is 2/1 with Coral to leave Stamford Bridge before the start of 2013, following Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Juventus. The result means the Blues are now on the brink of becoming the first Champions League holders not to secure a place in the knockout stage.

Chelsea now have to beat FC Nordsjaelland at Stamford Bridge on Matchday Six and hope that Shakhtar Donetsk overcome Juventus, to qualify through to the last 16 stage. It’s 9/4 that Chelsea progress through to the knockout stage and 11/8 is quoted for the Blues to win no silverware this season.

In The Premier League next manger to go betting, Roberto Di Matteo is now the 4/9 favourite to be the first Premier League casualty of the 2012/13 season.

“Questions about Roberto Di Matteo’s future were being raised prior to their defeat to Juventus so it’s not surprising to see the Chelsea manager become the new favourite in the next Premier League manager to go betting,” Coral’s Tim Reynolds told Football Betting News.

“If the Blues fail to overcome Manchester City in the Premier League this Sunday, Di Matteo could easily find himself without a job come Monday,” added Reynolds.
