Ibrahimovic favourite for Puskas Award

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been made the early favourite for this year’s Puskas Award for best goal scored over the last 12 months although England fans may not want to remember his stunning bicycle kick from distance which saw them crash to defeat to Sweden in November last year.

Ibra is odds-on in most places to scoop the award thanks to the outrageous finish but Paddy Power are offering great value by making the PSG superstar 11/10 to get his hands on another gong.

The nine other contenders are some way behind the Swedish captain in the odds which makes the offer from Paddy Power all the more tempting. Neymar’s volley for Brazil against Japan in the Confederations Cup is alongside a stunning scissors kick from Bologna’s Panagiotis Kone against Napoli last December; both these strikes are available at 11/1 with 888sport.

The long shot for the award is the only woman on the shortlist Lousia Necib who scored a cracking individual goal for Lyon against Saint-Etienne in March this year. The France midfielder is out at 66/1 with Paddy Power to claim the prize though and is not thought to have much of a chance.
