Ibrahimovic set for Old Trafford?
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has fuelled speculation that he could be on his way to Manchester United after confirming he has received an offer from a Premier League club.
The Swedish legend is a free agent after opting not to renew his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. Sources have suggested that United are the only Premier League club to whom he would be open to making the switch to. In a press conference whilst on international duty, the 34-year-old confirmed he has received offers from the Premier League as well as from Italy. He has also been heavily linked with a move to China in a hugely lucrative move but the bookies seem to think he is bound for Old Trafford.
With Jose Mourinho set to take over at United, Ibrahimovic could potentially link up with his former boss with Mourinho having previously managed him during their spell together at Inter Milan. The pair have maintained a close relationship and the Swede could well become the former Chelsea boss's first signing for United. At present a move looks to be on the cards with SkyBet currently offering the best odds at the time of writing although the move is priced at just 1/8.
The most likely destination other than Old Trafford for Ibrahimovic remains the mega-money move to China. Reports this week have suggested that he has been offered an eye-watering £26.5 million move to make the move east. Chinese football has seen huge investment in the past 12 months and a move for a genuine World star would certainly increase the profile of the game even further. However it is though that Ibrahimovic would prefer to remain in Europe and ply his trade at a more competitive level. SkyBet are currently offering odds of 9/2 on Ibrahimovic making the move to any Chinese club.
