Luiz still odds-against for Barcelona move

Barcelona have made a reported £35million bid for Chelsea defender David Luiz and the bookmakers cannot make up their minds as to whether he will be on his way to the Nou Camp or not.

Whilst some bookies have now made him an odds-on shot to join the Catalan giants Sky Bet remain the best price on Luiz being at Barca come September at 6/5 which if their competitors are to be believed looks like a fantastic price.

Jose Mourinho refused to comment on any potential transfer today in a press conference, solely referring to the Brazilian’s return from what he described as a “muscular injury.”

The stance of the club in the past though has been firmly that he is not for sale with interest from both Barca and European champions Bayern Munich over recent months.

Since joining the Londoners in January 2011 Luiz has become a regular feature in the first team and has already racked up over 100 appearances for the club, netting an impressive 12 goals along the way from the back. He is thought to be happy with life at Stamford Bridge and with Mourinho loathed to lose any of his key men it seems Barca will have a fight on their hands if they want to prize him away from Chelsea.
