MacKay early favourite for Norwich job
Malky MacKay has been immediately installed as the odds-on favourite to take over from the outgoing Chris Hughton as manager of Norwich City.
The Canaries parted company with Hughton on Sunday after a woeful home defeat to West Brom on Saturday left them in 17th place in the Premier League and in serious danger of relegation. They may still be five points above the drop zone but it was enough for the Norwich board to relieve the former Ireland international of his duties.
Youth coach Neil Adams has taken temporary charge but it is former Cardiff boss MacKay who is the clear favourite to take over on a permanent basis at a best price of just 1/4 with Stan James.
Many believe MacKay was unfairly dismissed from his role with Cardiff earlier in the season and he is an extremely well respected figure at Carrow Road having made over 200 appearances for the club between 1998 and 2004.
His closest competitor, according to the bookmakers, is Celtic manager Neil Lennon who is available at 3/1 again with Stan James to take the job.
