Moyes into 12/1 to be next manager to go
Manchester United manager David Moyes is now a best price of just 12/1 to be the next Premier League boss to leave their post after his side’s woeful 2-0 defeat to Olympiacos in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Red Devils were extremely poor as they were defeated by a Greek side for the first time in their history and with qualification for next season’s Champions League looking extremely unlikely the pressure is rapidly growing on the Scot.
In some places Moyes is a best price of just 6/1 to be the next manager to go which makes the 12/1 offered by William Hill look an extremely generous price indeed.
United’s next game is not until 8 March away to West Brom, a side that beat them at Old Trafford earlier in the season. The Baggies are out at a lengthy 9/2 with Bwin to win that game, which again looks generous, and if they do the pressure on Moyes may become too much to bare.
His side are not yet out of the Champions League and with the second leg against Olympiacos at home, many people will see them as having a great chance to turn the tie around. United are a best price of 11/5 with Ladbrokes to qualify for the quarter-finals, and to many that will seem an excellent price.
