Moyes into 3/1 to replace Pardew at Newcastle

David Moyes is now into a best price of just 3/1 to be the next permanent Newcastle United manager after the Magpies suffered their sixth straight Premier League defeat under Alan Pardew on Monday evening.

Although a 3-0 defeat at Arsenal would not usually be seen as too embarrassing, the facts that it is the sixth loss in a row and that Newcastle have scored just once in those six contests are why the pressure is piling on Pardew.

The Magpies’ remaining fixtures are at home to Cardiff and away at Liverpool and if they result in two more defeats then it is very difficult to see Pardew continuing in his role next season.

Moyes has become the favourite to replace him after being axed by Manchester United. The Scot is now a best price of just 3/1 with Paddy Power to be their next permanent boss whilst he is 11/4 with 888sport to be in charge at St James’ Park on 1st January 2015.

The only other strong contender for the job on Tyneside, according to the bookies, is Steve Bruce who is available at 9/2 to be the next leader of the Geordie faithful.
