Newcastle odds slashed in race to sign Danny Graham

Bookmaker BetVictor have slashed their odds on Swansea striker Danny Graham moving to Newcastle from 12/1 to 2/1 following a string of bets on the Geordie joining his boyhood club.

The market shift means that north east rivals Sunderland and Newcastle are now the joint-favourites to sign Graham, with Norwich only marginally bigger at odds of 3/1.

Swansea manager Michael Laudrup confirmed earlier this week that the club had received a number of bids for last season’s top scorer at the Liberty Stadium.

“The only thing I can say is that it is true there have been bids, but, apart from that, I won’t comment,” said Laudrup.

“We do not know what will happen he may leave he may stay.

“I have spoken to Danny and that’s it. When I talk to players one-on-one I don’t think it’s fair to make it public.”

Graham was the Swans’ top scorer last season with 14 goals in all competitions, but has found first-team football more difficult to come by under Laudrup this season and has scored just four goals this campaign.
