Norwich prepare final bid for Gary Hooper
Following reports from Celtic that they have rejected three offers for striker Gary Hooper, Norwich are expected to make a fourth and final bid for the player and William Hill offer odds of 5/4 that he leaves Glasgow this January.
Sky Bet make Norwich the 6/5 favourites to sign the Englishman, with Spurs the only other realistic destination at odds of 11/4.
“I think Norwich came in with a third bid yesterday and it was rejected,” said Celtic manager Neil Lennon after last night’s 4-1 win over Kilmarnock.
“They were well short. We don't have a price on Gary, but the bid that was put in yesterday was well short.”
Hooper has scored 74 goals in 119 appearances for the Hoops since joining for a fee of £2.4million in the summer of 2010.
“He wants to be the leading goalscorer, that's his life and what he works hard for every day,” added Lennon
“All I can say is if a deal can be done, we may get offered players and people may ring up about our players - that's the way transfer deadline day works.”
