Opening weekend fixture odds from Paddy Power

With just under two months to go until the Premier League circus rolls back into town the fixture list for the upcoming season has been released. Bookmaker Paddy Power have created odds for the matches on the opening weekend and have looked at who is likely to be battling it out at both ends of the table.

On the opening weekend Hull have the biggest mountain to climb and are at odds of 10/1 to beat Chelsea away. Swansea have the toughest home tie with Paddy Power giving them odds of 9/2 to beat Manchester United. Norwich start their campaign at home to Everton with the game predicted to be tight – the Canaries are at 2/1 for a home win with Everton at 13/10 for an away win and 9/4 on the draw. All fixtures are priced at below.

Paddy Power have also created a series of special markets for the opening weekend. Punters can predict a goal fest with odds of 15/8 that 32 goals or more will be scored in the first set of Premier League matches. Chelsea can be backed at 5/1 to score the most goals in Mourinho’s first game back in charge with Pellegrini’s Man City at 6/1. With some tight fixtures on the opening weekend punters can back four or more draws at 10/3. Finally, with two Welsh teams now in the top division Paddy Power are offering a season match bet on which club will finish higher. Swansea can be backed at 2/5 and Cardiff at 7/4.

With a whole host of new managers in the Premier League is wide open and punters can back Manchester United at 11/5 to retain their title. Man City are just behind them at 23/10 along with Chelsea at the same odds. Arsenal, despite new signings expected, are 11/1 and Spurs are at 25/1. A rejuvenated Liverpool are 28/1 followed by a Moyes-less Everton at 250/1. At the other end of the table new boys Crystal Palace, who start their campaign as underdogs against Tottenham, are favourites to go down 8/15. Hull are second favourites at 4/6 and Cardiff round off the three to go down at 6/4.
