Palace 6/5 to stay up

Sky Bet make Crystal Palace 6/5 to avoid relegation next season after booking their place in the Premier League with a 1-0 Championship play-off final win over Watford.

Ian Holloway’s men were outsiders to overcome the Hornets at Wembley and started the season at 28/1 for promotion, but can now look forward to attempting to upset the odds again in the top tier of English football.

Palace are considered the 8/13 favourites for the drop ahead of fellow newly promoted sides Hull (8/11) and Cardiff (11/8), while Watford are 4/1 to bounce back from Monday’s disappointment and secure promotion next season.

A man-of-the-match display from Wilfried Zaha at Wembley has prompted the online bookmaker to open up various specials on what he can achieve at Manchester United next season, going 20/1 that he will be named PFA Young Player of the Year.

Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer told Football Betting News: “Palace were one of our big outsiders for promotion last season after finishing down in 17th in 2011/12 and we’ve got modest expectations for them again again next season.

“Losing star man Zaha is a big blow so it will be interesting to see what Holloway does in the transfer window, but the odds suggest he’s got a fair bit of work to do.”
