Pulis clear favourite for Palace job
The second managerial departure of the Premier League season came to pass on Wednesday afternoon as Ian Holloway left his role as Crystal Palace manager and it is Tony Pulis who has been installed as the clear favourite to replace him at Selhurst Park.
The former Stoke boss has been out of work since leaving the Britannia Stadium and the end of last summer and has been linked with a number of vacancies over the months since. He is now a best price of just EVENS with Coral to be the next manager of the Eagles.
The link was strengthened by Palace chairman Steve Parrish who stated his admiration for the Welshman by saying, “He's never been relegated, and he's out of work. We'll look," suggesting that he will at least speak to Pulis about the vacancy.
It is indeed true that Pulis has never suffered relegation in his managerial career which has seen him take charge of six teams over the last two decades. His successful spell at Stoke has also left him with a good standing in the game.
His nearest competitor in the betting to be the next Palace boss is Avram Grant who is some way behind at a best price of 11/1 with Stan James and he is followed by Neil Warnock at 20/1 with Sky Bet, so it really does look at this stage like Pulis is the only viable option.
