QPR 7/4 for immediate return

Queens Park Rangers are 7/4 to return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, while Reading are 4/1 to do likewise after both clubs were relegated from the top flight on Sunday.

The two sides, who have been odds-on to go down for much of the season, played out a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium, with only a point apiece mathematically confirming their fate.

QPR are considered more likely for an immediate return, with Sky Bet going 5/1 that they win the 2013-14 Championship title, while the Royals are a 12/1 shot.

Sky Bet’s football trader Chris Spicer told Football Betting News: “QPR have invested a lot in their squad - in hindsight unwisely - and they may struggle to offload some of their expensive recruits this summer.

“They could be forced to stick with the players they’ve paid big money for so we’ve got to consider them to be strong contenders at the top end of the Championship next season.”
