QPR still odds-on for promotion after Derby loss
Despite their loss away at Derby on Monday night Queens Park Rangers remain odds-on to gain promotion to the Premier League this season be it automatically or through the play-offs.
Harry Redknapp’s side lost ground in the race for the top two at the iPro Stadium with a 1-0 defeat to the Rams, remaining in third place as a result but the bookmakers still expect them to gain the promotion that has been expected of them all season. The R’s are currently a best price of 8/13 with Coral to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
The result in Derbyshire was a handy one for Burnley who remain in second place because of it, ahead of Rangers on goal difference. The Clarets are out at 2/1 with Betfred to gain promotion this season and given how consistent they have been over the campaign that looks a very decent price indeed.
Derby’s odds on promotion have been dramatically cut after their win against Rangers and the Rams are now just 15/8 with Bet Victor to go up this year. The other team in the mix are fifth placed Nottingham Forest who are on a lengthy unbeaten run and five points off the automatic promotion spots. Billy Davies’ side are 5/2 with Sky Bet to return to the Premier League this year.
