Redknapp favourite to replace Hughes at QPR
Bookmaker BetVictor make Harry Redknapp the 5/4 favourite to replace under fire Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes.
Having spent big in the summer transfer market QPR are yet to win a game this season and have picked up just two points from their opening six matches. The club’s worst ever start to a Premier League campaign.
Sky Bet now make Hughes the 11/10 favourite in their Next Premier League Manager to Leave his Post market.
The former Blackburn and Manchester City boss has, however, received overwhelming backing from club owner Tony Fernandes.
“Keep calm. Six games does not make a season. I have learnt from many wise chairmen,” said Fernandes on his Twitter account.
“Mark will sort it out. Look at his record. We would have won if we didn't go down to 10.
"We have a great manager. New training ground. New stadium. Great players.
"This will make us stronger. Along the way to success there will be bumps. I love what we are building and I love being a Ranger.”
Hughes was also defiant, commenting after Monday night’s defeat at home to West Ham the Welshman said: “We are not adrift. We have had a difficult run but we have played some quality sides.
“Those things are going against us at the moment. We need to do better leading up to goals. We need to stop crosses at source, get up against people better and stop things happening before they do.”
QPR go to West Brom this Saturday and are priced at odds of 3/1 to pick up all three points by BetVictor. The home win is a 17/20 chance and the draw is 11/4.
