Rooney 10/1 to be United top scorer

After a fine start to the season personally for Wayne Rooney in terms of form, the England international striker is still an incredible best price of 10/1 to be Manchester United’s top scorer in the Premier League this campaign.

Rooney has scored three goals in five league contests so far and five goals in total after a brace in the Champions League against Bayer Leverkusen. The 27-year-old has been in great form despite United not picking up the results they would want, so when the team does hit their straps he could improve still further.

The bookies clearly do not think Rooney will keep up this goal scoring rhythm though as Stan James make him 10/1 to be the Red Devils’ top Premier League scorer.

Those odds would be a lot shorter if it were not for the presence in the side of Robin van Persie who has been the top scorer in the division for the previous two seasons. The Dutchman has not looked at his best so far this campaign but has still scored as many league goals as Rooney and it is this ability to find the net without necessarily playing well that has convinced Bet Victor to odder a best price of just 1/4 on the Dutchman leading United’s scoring charts.
