Rooney and Sturridge odds-against to strike
Jack Wilshere has claimed this week that it is the return to the England side of both Wayne Rooney and Daniel Sturridge that will see England beat Montenegro and Poland and qualify for the 2014 World Cup but both frontmen are odds-against to score against the Montenegrins on Friday night.
Both Sturridge and Rooney missed the last two qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine through injury but are back in the fold this week and are in fine form for their clubs with the Liverpool man topping the Premier League scoring charts and Rooney having scored five in his last nine games in all competitions.
Both men remain good value to find the back of the net against Montenegro on Friday though with Rooney a best price of 11/10 with Ladbrokes to score anytime whilst Sturridge is marginally behind him at 6/4 with the same bookmaker.
Another change to the team since England last took to the field will be at left-back where Leighton Baines is set to replace the injured Ashley Cole. With his recent form with the dead ball for Everton it could be Baines that is first in line to take free-kicks on Friday night and he is a tempting looking 7/1, again with Ladbrokes, to score during the 90 minutes.
England are hot favourites to win the match at a best price of 2/5 with Betway whilst a repeat of the draw between the two sides from earlier in the qualifying campaign is out at 4/1 with Bet365.
