Spurs 11/4 to finish in top four
Tottenham may have continued their excellent recent form under Tim Sherwood with a 4-0 win away at Newcastle on Wednesday night but they remain a distant 11/4 to finish in the top four this season.
Spurs have looked thoroughly impressive of late, winning six of their last eight led by the resurgent Emmanuel Adebayor who scored twice more at St James’ Park taking his tally to five in his last five games. They are now firmly in fifth place but the form of those above them is the reason for Betfred offering as much as 11/4 on them ending up in the Champions League places.
Liverpool are immediately ahead of Tottenham and three points clear of them after a dramatic late win at Fulham on Wednesday. The Reds are in fine form as well, winning five and drawing two of their last seven and they are just 2/7 with Paddy Power to retain their top four place.
Brendan Rodgers’ side not only have a three point advantage over Spurs but also a significantly better goal difference. Tottenham will not be making up the 30 goal gap in this statistic which will effectively mean an extra point for Liverpool this season.
Fans on the red side of Merseyside will not have given up their hopes on lifting the Premier League title after they closed the gap on both Arsenal and Chelsea this midweek. They are just four points off the summit of the table and are now third favourites to win the league at 17/2 with Boyle Sports.
