Suarez 7/2 to outscore England at World Cup

It is fair to say that there is not a great deal of optimism surrounding England’s forthcoming World Cup campaign, a feeling that is summed up by bookmakers pricing up markets such as: Luis Suarez to outscore the entire England team this summer.

Suarez will be taking on England in Group D with Uruguay and with England expected to struggle in the group which also includes Italy it is not out of the question that the Liverpool striker could perform better than the English team as a whole. Paddy Power are offering 7/2 that he manages it and that will look very tempting to some.

The 27-year-old has a sensational strike rate in international football having scored 39 times in 71 appearances for his country. With nine goals in his last 11 appearances he is also in fine form for Uruguay.

The bookmakers are not ruling out England’s chances in Brazil with Roy Hodgson’s men still odds-against not to qualify from their group at a best price of 11/10 with Stan James. It may seem scandalously unpatriotic but that looks an excellent price in the face of stern competition from Italy and Uruguay.
