Suarez evens for Real switch
Luis Suarez has been cut from 11/1 to evens to join Real Madrid in Sky Bet’s Transfer Specials as punters back a summer switch for the controversial Liverpool star.
Speculation has been sparked by an interview with Uruguayan radio station Sport 890 suggesting the 26-year-old is sick of the criticism he has received amid bans for racial abuse and biting.
Suarez also stated that “to say no to Madrid would always be difficult” while Real president Florentino Perez spoke of his mutual appreciation for the striker ahead of his expected re-election.
While the striker’s agent has since suggested his client is happy to remain at Anfield, Sky Bet punters have moved to back a deal being done, although still being a Reds player come the close of the transfer window is deemed marginally more likely at 8/11.
Perez also rained praise on Tottenham frontman Gareth Bale, stating he was “born to play in Madrid” but the Welshman is also odds-on to stay at his current club and 3/1 to head to the Spanish capital.
Sky Bet Football Trader Chris Spicer told Football Betting News: “Liverpool and Tottenham fans alike will not have enjoyed hearing that their star men are on Real’s radar, but the good news is that we make both players odds-on to remain with their current clubs.
”However, both moves are now considered more likely than they were at the start of the week, with Suarez to Real evens from 11/1 and Bale 3/1 from 5s.”
