Suarez odds-on for stay

Sky Bet have made Luis Suarez odds-on to stay at Liverpool for the first time since the striker indicated his desire to leave the club.

The Uruguay international has made no secret of his desire to leave the club but Liverpool’s principal owner John Henry this week insisted they will not sell, particularly not to a domestic rival.

Both Real Madrid and Arsenal have been odds-on to sign Suarez this summer but have since drifted, with the Spaniards out to 7/2 while Arsenal remain favourites at 6/4.

Liverpool fans have also been buoyed by comments from manager Brendan Rodgers, who on Friday claimed Suarez will grow to accept that he will not get his wish, sparking a string of bets on him to stay.

That leaves the former Ajax forward 8/11 to still be at Anfield after when current transfer window closes while he’s evens to be elsewhere.

Sky Bet’s Chris Spicer said: “It’s one of the most surprising shifts we’ve had this summer as we’ve been sure Suarez would force a move ever since he hinted at wanting a move back in May, with the odds on him staying being as long as 3/1.”
