Swansea fourth favourites for Europa League

Swansea’s incredible 3-0 win away to Valencia on Thursday night caught the attention of football fans all over Europe but also impressed the bookmakers who now make the Welsh side fourth favourites to lift the trophy come the final in Turin in May.

Goals from Wilfried Bony, Michu and Jonathan de Guzman led the Swans to the unlikely romp and now they are a best price of 25/1 with Ladbrokes for European glory, behind only Spurs, Fiorentina and Lazio but comfortably ahead of the likes of Dynamo Kiev, Lyon and PSV Eindhoven and level with twice winners Sevilla.

Michael Laudrup’s side next take on Swiss team St Gallen who beat Kuban Krasnodar on the opening night on Thursday. If the Swans can pick up another win then they will be three points clear at the top of Group A after just two games and looking extremely good for qualification into the next round.

It is another Premier League side in Tottenham Hotspur that remain favourites for the competition though after their comfortable 3-0 win over Tromso at White Hart Lane. Andre Villas-Boas has won the competition before and he is 9/1 with 888sport to do it again this season.
