Tottenham favourites for Europa success
Tottenham have been made 3/1 favourites to win the Europa League after making a big statement against Italian giants Inter Milan on Thursday night.
Spurs, who were 8/1 to lift the trophy after seeing off Lyon in the previous round, took control of their last 16 tie with the 2010 Champions League winners thanks to a 3-0 win at White Hart Lane.
The ease at which the Premier League side brushed their Serie A counterparts aside did not go unnoticed by the bookmakers, with Sky Bet going 6/4 that they reach the final.
Previous favourites Chelsea, now 9/2, must overcome a deficit against Steaua Bucharest while big spenders Anzhi Makhachkala (10/1) were held at home by Newcastle (14/1).
Football trader Chris Spicer told Football Betting News: “Tottenham are in the most comfortable position of all the remaining teams and Andre Villas-Boas looks to be taking the Europa League very seriously, and rightly so.
“It hasn’t hampered their Premier League form in the slightest, and we go 6/5 that they grab third place and 1/4 on that they secure another top four finish.”
