Trio head next Blackburn manager betting

Usual suspects Paolo Di Canio and Nigel Adkins are 10/1 joint favourites for the vacant position as next manager of Blackburn Rovers after the club sacked Michael Appleton earlier today.

BetVictor Spokesperson Charlie McCann told Football Betting News: “Steve Kean’s 21-month reign as Rovers manager, which ended in September, is beginning to look like one of Sir Alex Ferguson proportions after the Club sacked Mike Appleton this morning having also got rid of Henning Berg already this season.

“Rovers are thus looking for a 4th full time manager this season and it would be fair to say the vacancy is beginning to look like a poisoned chalice; that said the Venky’s look sure to be inundated with applications from potential managers and we makes former Saints’ boss Nigel Adkins and former Swindon Town manager Paolo Di Canio 10/1 joint favourites with Mark Hughes 12/1 to return to Ewood Park.”

Blackburn have announced that Gary Bowyer will take charge until the end of the season which is nine games; BetVictor rules state 10-games constitute permanent boss so they have introduced Bowyer into the market at 10/1 although, it would appear, there won’t be a full-time appointment until the summer.
