Wenger now 4/1 to join PSG this summer

Its been over eight years since Arsenal last picked up a trophy and after intense speculation it looks like Arsene Wenger may well finally be on his way out of the Emirates.

Reports have linked the long standing Gunners manager to soon to be French champions and bookmaker Paddy Power have odds of 4/1 that he’ll join PSG this summer.

Speculation around Arsene Wenger began in the early part of the season as Arsenal struggled be in the top half of the table, let alone the hallowed top four. A disappointing FA Cup exit followed by the side crashing out of the Champions League means that Arsenal are set to finish another season without a trophy. Across the channel PSG are set to take the Ligue 1 title and the club have suggested that they see Arsene Wenger as the man to take them onto the next level. With the Arsenal manager’s contract expiring in 2014 bookmaker Paddy Power have odds of 13/2 that he’ll join PSG at the end of next season.

Sitting on the other side of the fence from next season will be Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher. The no nonsense defender will be joining the Sky Sports team alongside fellow Kop-ites Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness. The ex-Liverpool contingent on the panel will now number 3-1 with now universally popular Gary Neville as the one exception. Neville and Carragher had their fair share of on pitch fireworks and Paddy Power have odds of 9/4 that Carragher will last only one season or less as a regular pundit on the show. However, with a studio full of Anfield-ers it may well be Gary Neville who decides to jump ship and the odds on him leaving before the end of next season are 9/4.

A Paddy Power spokesman told Football Betting News; “Le Professeur looks to be heading towards the exit at Arsenal after too many barren years with PSG set to welcome him with open arms. On this side of the channel Sky Sports will be interesting next year with a studio full of ex-Liverpool players, might all be too much for G-Nev.”
