Zaha linked with Spurs move
Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha is once again being linked with a move to Tottenham, with speculation suggesting that he could make the move across London once the January transfer window re-opens. Spurs were strongly linked with a move for the 24-year-old in the summer when it was reported they made a £15 million bid.
Zaha's form this season will have no doubt re-ignited Spurs' interest as he has been able to produce on a far more consistent basis. There has never really been much doubting of his talent but question marks have remained over his application and ability to produce his best performances regularly. However this season his end product has been much better with three goals and six assists to his name so far. He has looked far more threatening week in, week out and only Manchester City's Kevin De Bruyne has set up more goals.
Mauricio Pochettino's desire to bring Zaha from South to North London in the summer was ultimately unsuccessful given the fact Palace had already let Yannick Bolasie depart for Everton. Pochettino instead turned his attentions to Georges-Kevin N'Koudou though the former Marseille winger has had a limited impact for Spurs so far. Tottenham's other major attacking signing over the summer Vincent Janssen has also struggled to make the desired impact and there is little doubt that Spurs struggle in the final third when Harry Kane is out of the side. The interest in Zaha certainly seems to be genuine and that can be seen by the bookies' odds on the transfer happening. Ladbrokes are currently offering a host of markets related to Zaha's future and in fact have Spurs odds-on to be his next club at odds of just 5/6.
Ladbrokes News' Alex Apati has given his opinion on the move stating: "It's taken a while, but it looks like Spurs will finally get their man, and Pochettino might just make a move when the January transfer window opens."
The same bookmakers have it at just 1/2 that he departs Selhurst Park in the Summer of 2017 whilst the odds on a January transfer are slightly shorter at 5/2.
