Arsenal v Huddersfield Betting Preview

Arsene Wenger's side remain on course for a potential quadruple having secured a Carling Cup final in midweek and have now recorded four straight wins, including two cup victories.

Arsenal welcome Huddersfield Town for Sunday lunchtime's fourth round FA Cup clash. The two clubs will forever share a common bond, as legendary manager Herbert Chapman led both to two league titles.

Yet, while 45 league places now separates the sides, the visitors can take heart from the performance of Yorkshire neighbours Leeds United in the last round, who earned a draw at the Emirates and forced the tie to a replay.

The Gunners will be without Bacary Sagna who suffered concussion in midweek, however, Sebastien Squillaci may return following a hamstring injury. The Terriers have lost top striker, Jordan Rhodes, for at least a month with ankle ligament damage and teenager Benik Afobe, who is on loan from Arsenal, will not be allowed to play against his parent club.

Greed Is Good For Arsenal?

Huddersfield are currently riding high in third place in League One and have fours wins from six in all competitions. However, while their home form has been the strongest in the division, the Terriers have struggled on their travels with five defeats in the last nine. Lee Clark's men have made it this far having dispatched lower league opposition in the previous three rounds and will know that a visit to Arsenal offers an altogether different challenge.

Arsene Wenger's side remain on course for a potential quadruple having secured a Carling Cup final in midweek and have now recorded four straight wins, including two cup victories. The Gunners have 12 wins in total at the Emirates this term, though have shown the occasional vulnerability, losing three times in the Premier League and they were mere minutes from being eliminated in the previous round of this competition. Yet, Arsenal have not lost an FA Cup tie at home since 1997, winning seven of the last 10.

The most recent meeting between the two sides came in a 1993 League Cup tie with the Gunners held at home following a comfortable 5-0 win in the away leg. The Terriers have not beaten Arsenal in any cup competition in nine attempts. Arsenal are 1/7 to win with Huddersfield as big as 22/1 and the Draw around 9/1.

Cannon Fodder For The Gunners?

Twelve of Arsenal's matches at the Emirates this term have produced in excess of two goals with eight of those seeing four or greater - as have the last four away trips for Huddersfield. Over 2.5 goals would appear a given at a best-priced 1/3 with Over 3.5 goals at 4/5.

The Gunners' defence has been breached in ten different games at home this season and has just seven clean sheets to its name. They can be backed to make it eight at 5/6. Arsene Wenger's side have ten times won by a margin of 3 goals or greater on in all competitions this campaign and are even money to beat an Asian handicap of -2.5 goals. The correct score market may offer some value at 13/2 for 3-0, 9/1 for 4-0 and a very attractive 16/1 for 5-0.

Arsenal have done most of their work in the second half of fixtures at the Emirates this season, with more goals scored - by either team - after the break on ten occasions. Most firms go 11/10 on there being more goals netted in the second 45 minutes of this contest.
