Arsenal v Leyton Orient Betting Odds

A big win here could be just the tonic that they need after Sunday.

The Gunners need to pick themselves up and dust themselves down following defeat in the Carling Cup final at the weekend. Can they get their season back on track as they continue to search for silverware on three fronts?

Arsene Wenger has backed his 'destroyed' players to bounce back from their surprise defeat to Birmingham on Sunday. The Frenchman could be tempted to field one or two more first team regulars than he perhaps otherwise would have done here in an attempt to restore his players' confidences.

Theo Walcott and Cesc Fabregas are definitely unavailable due to injury while Robin van Persie is likely to sit this one out after picking up a knock in the Carling Cup final.

Goals to remedy cup final blues

While Arsenal were losing to Birmingham at Wembley Leyton Orient were fighting back from 2-0 down to snatch a point from their game against Huddersfield in League One. In doing so they kept their play-off hopes alive, meaning they could have to postpone that trip to Las Vegas a little longer.

The 1-1 draw at Brisbane Road will go down in Leyton Orient history as one of their finest moments. But the chances of them actually knocking Arsenal out of the competition and etching their names into the FA Cup history books are slim.

Some bookmakers are quoting odds as short as 1/25 on Arsenal going through to the next round to meet Manchester United, with 9/1 available on Orient progressing.

Few betting on the match odds market will be interested in the short 1/7 about a Gunners victory and there is likely to be much more interest in the Asian Handicap betting markets.

It's a few weeks now since Arsenal have looked like they are fully exerting themselves and they certainly lacked that killer instinct in the 1-1 draw that resulted in this replay. A big win here could be just the tonic that they need after Sunday. Arsenal are Even money to win this one with a two goal deficit on the handicap market.

Value in backing midfielders

Any bets on the goalscorer markets will have to wait until Wenger announces his team to avoid disappointment. Van Persie is 8/11 to continue his rich scoring streak but is unlikely to feature, Marouane Chamakh and Nicklas Bendtner are both 5/6 and much more likely to start the game.

Midfielders Samir Nasri and Andrey Arshavin are also available at odds on prices of 4/5. Better value, however, could come from backing Tomas Rosicky, who scored at Brisbane Road, at 5/2 and Jack Wilshere, who struck the bar at Wembley, at 7/2.

There's little room for complacency from Arsenal but Sunday's result should ensure that they are fully focussed here. Orient could just be on the receiving end of a Gunners backlash.
