Arsenal Ready to Sell Fabregas

The bookmakers are offering betting odds of 6/4 that Fabregas is still an Arsenal player at the close of the summer transfer window

Arsenal are ready to sell captain Cesc Fabregas if the club’s evaluation of the player is met.

The Gunners rejected several offers from Barcelona for the midfielder last summer and have already rebuffed an offer from the Catalans this summer. But the club are now preparing for an improved offer and are believed to have changed their stance in regards to the sale of the Spaniard.

"The offer was made formally in writing to our chief executive (Ivan Gazidis), and we said no straight away," a senior Arsenal official is quoted as saying by the BBC.

But when asked if the club expected to receive an improved offer, the source said: "Possibly yes, and if it's enough then I expect we'll have to sell."

Arsenal are believed to value their star player at around the £40 million mark having rejected an initial bid from Barcelona reported to be in the region of £27 million.

The bookmakers are offering betting odds of 6/4 that Fabregas is still an Arsenal player at the close of the summer transfer window, and 1/2 that he is not. Barca are the inevitable 1/5 favourites to be the club that he moves to, with Real Madrid at 9/2 and Manchester City 8/1 outsiders.
