Former Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas is now the odds-on favourite to succeed Harry Redknapp as manager of Tottenham Hotspur across the board of bookmakers.
William Hill are as short as 2/7 about the Portuguese manager taking charge at White Hart Lane, while Bet365 are a best-price 8/11.
“After a slow start, the race to replace Harry has really heated up, with arch rival Chelsea’s ex boss now the red hot front runner,” said Gary Burton of Coral who were forced to cut their odds of from 3/2 to 4/7 over the weekend.
Laurent Blanc is second favourite in the betting at odds of around 5/1 with early favourite David Moyes slipping down to third favouritism at around 7/1.
Roberto Martinez had been an early front runner but is now out to 10/1 after Wigan chairman Dave Whelan stated that their had been no approach for his manager from Spurs.
“I have not been approached, and Roberto has not been approached,” Whelan told ESPN. “He is so honest that he would tell me the minute that he has.
“I think it's pie in the sky that Spurs want Roberto. It seems that way as they have made no approach. That's not to say that they won't, but I hope that Spurs go for David Moyes and leave us alone.”
