Balotelli 4/6 to be banned
Ladbrokes are offering odds of 4/6 that Mario Balotelli receives a retrospective ban for allegedly stamping on Scott Parker in Manchester City’s 3-2 win over Tottenham at the weekend.
The Italian striker appeared to stamp on Parker’s head as the Spurs midfielder fell to the floor, but referee Howard Webb did not see the incident. The Football Association have yet to comment on the occurrence but could decide to take action upon reviewing video footage.
Opinion appears to be divided on whether the 21-year-old intentionally kicked the England midfielder, with former referee Dermot Gallagher telling Sky Sports News that he believes it is ’50-50’ whether the FA decide to take action. Ladbrokes go 11/10 that he is not handed a ban for the incident.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp made his opinions on the matter clear, he believed that Balotelli shouldn’t have been on the pitch to win and take the injury-time penalty that gave City all three points.
“He's backheeled him straight in the head,” said the Spurs boss.
“It is not the first time he has done that and I am sure it won't be the last.”
Ladbrokes appear to agree with Redknapp and offer odds of 8/11 that Balotelli is shown another red card in the Premier League this season. It is Evens that he gets through the season without being given his marching orders.
