Balotelli betting specials

1/3 that Balotelli is still a Premier League player at the beginning of next season

Mario Balotelli is rarely out of the headlines these days, whether it be for his on- or off-field antics, and so Ladbrokes have released a range of betting specials in relation to the player’s future conduct.

The bookmaker offer odds of 8/11 that he is shown a red card again this season and just 2/1 that he scores another Premier League hattrick before the campaign is over. While odds of 16/1 on him winning the PFA player of the year award and 25/1 on him winning the Ballon d’Or accolade next season are also available.

“Punters look set to profit if Balotelli's roller coaster ride continues this year. Whilst he's likely to get his marching orders again this season we expect him to right his wrongs with another charitable act,” said Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes.

“Providing he stays and focuses on his game we think he's got the talent to be a real contender for top awards next season.”

The Italian striker was issued a retrospective ban for stamping on Scott Parker in last weekend’s 3-2 win over Tottenham, leading his agent, Mino Raiola, to suggest that he could be forced leave the Premier League in the future.

“He would love to stay in the Premier League for a long time and won't move this transfer window, for sure. It's not our intention, let that be clear,” said Raiola to Sky Sports News.

“But if every week some referee [does this] with Mario, maybe you say, 'That's enough' and he goes to another country.”

Ladbrokes offer odds of 1/3 that Balotelli is still a Premier League player at the beginning of next season, and 11/5 that he isn’t.

There has also been plenty of news about what the youngster gets up to in his personal life, including dishing out money to homeless people and paying off students’ library fines.

Odds of 1/4 are being quoted on him making a charitable donation of over £1,000 to an individual during 2012, while it is a marginally bigger 1/3 that he is spotted on a student night out in Manchester this year. His is also 100/1 to be TIME magazine’s man of the year and 500/1 to win the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize.
