Blackburn v West Brom Betting Odds

Blackburn have won four out of their last six games at home and the bookies make them favourites at 13/10 to improve upon that record.

Blackburn Rovers have been at the centre of several transfer rumours during the January transfer window. Sensational targets such as Ronaldinho, David Beckham and even Juan Roman Riquelme have failed to come to fruition.

The Rovers faithful will be encouraged that they have landed their former hit man, Roque Santa Cruz, on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season. In addition to that they have signed Jermaine Jones from Bundesliga side Schalke, the two could prove to be very important additions to Rovers who currently hover in mid table.

The first meeting between the two sides was in December at The Hawthorns where Blackburn took all three points in an eventful 3-1 victory. Nikola Kalinic scored twice before being sent off. El Hadj Diouf scored the winner after Jerome Thomas had cancelled out Kalinic's opener.

Blackburn have Brett Emerton at the Asian Cup with Australia and David Dunn, Vince Grella and Phil Jones are all missing through injury. West Brom have Steven Reid as their only long term casualty, with Graham Dorrans, Ishmael Miller and Youssuf Mulumbu expected to be available after knocks.

Rovers Strong at Ewood

Blackburn's last outing was a mediocre 2-0 defeat at Stamford Bridge against a weakened Chelsea side. Steve Kean has been signed up on a deal that will see his contract as manager run until the summer of 2013. With the pressure from the new owners on Kean's shoulders, he will be hoping to gain all three points this Sunday.

West Brom are currently three points clear of the relegation zone. Their early season promise under Roberto Di Matteo has waned, although the Baggies managed a 3-2 victory over an impressive Blackpool side at The Hawthorns last weekend. A large part of their success this season has been down to the blistering form of Peter Odemwingie, the Nigerian has been a revelation since his arrival from Locomotiv Moscow in the summer.

Blackburn have won four out of their last six games at home and the bookies make them favourites at 13/10 to improve upon that record. West Brom are priced at 5/2 with the majority of bookies, whilst the odds on a draw look favourable at 9/4.

Roque Returns

Blackburn's returning hero Roque Santa Cruz is tempting at 6/1 to score first whilst Morten Gamst Pedersen is 11/1 having scored four league goals this season. If you are feeling adventurous Santa Cruz is up to 66/1 to score at hat-trick on his return. Odemwingie has taken to West Brom's front line like a duck to water and it's no surprise that he leads the first goal scorer odds at 13/2 having scored eight league goals already this season.

Given West Brom's adventurous style of play and Rovers' more fluid approach under Kean, betting odds of 5/6 on their being over 2.5 goals looks like it will attract some investors.

The pressure on Steve Kean to succeed under the watchful eyes of their Indian owners will be significant and they will be expecting their side to challenge for a European spot come the end of the season. The Baggies are fighting to regain some confidence after a slump, and will be looking to set the record straight this Sunday in what should be a closely fought encounter.
