Blues made favourites for FA Cup glory

United will face City at the Etihad Stadium in the third round

Chelsea have been made the bookmakers’ favourites to win the FA Cup following Sunday’s third round draw.

The Blues were handed a home tie against Championship side Portsmouth. However, it was the draw involving their Premier League rivals that was the main reason behind them being shortened to 11/2 favourites in the betting with Bet365.

One of the first ties to come out of the hat was a Manchester derby. United will face City at the Etihad Stadium in the third round of the competition on the first weekend in January. The tie gives Sir Alex Ferguson’s men an opportunity to exact revenge for their humiliating 6-1 defeat at Old Trafford earlier this season.

William Hill make City the 11/10 favourites to make it back-to-back wins over their neighbours, with United priced at 2/1 and the draw 11/5.

Elsewhere, Liverpool will play either Southend or Oldham, Tottenham face Cheltenham Town and Arsenal entertain Leeds.

Non-League Tamworth will have their day in the spotlight after they were drawn to play Everton at Goodison Park, Stoke manager Tony Pulis will face one of his formers sides when The Potters go to Gillingham and Martin O’Neill will begin his quest to bring silverware to Wearside with an away match against Peterborough.
