Blues to silence singing Canaries

The Canaries have only failed to score in three of their 21 league games

Chelsea travel to Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon to face Norwich City, with both sides looking for a fourth successive win.

The hosts will be without Marc Tierney and James Vaughan but manager Paul Lambert may name the same side that came from behind to win at West Bromwich Albion last weekend. In-form Steve Morison will be hoping to build on the nine goals he has scored so far this season and Ladbrokes offer a best-priced 3/1 for him to score at any time during the game.

On Monday, Chelsea completed the signing of Gary Cahill from Bolton Wanderers and he may go straight into the first-team in place of David Luiz. Michael Essien returned from a six-month layoff as a substitute in the 1-0 win over Sunderland last weekend and he too will be hoping for a starting berth. Andre Villas-Boas will again be without Branislav Ivanovic and Jon Obi Mikel through injury, while Salomon Kalou and Didier Drogba are away on international duty with the Ivory Coast.

The Canaries have only failed to score in three of their 21 league games this campaign but they have not kept a single clean sheet this season. Sky Bet offer 4/6 on both teams to score. Norwich have scored more goals at home than any other team outside the top four but their defensive frailties have already cost them points throughout the campaign.

With Manchester City facing Tottenham and Manchester United travelling to Arsenal on Sunday, Chelsea have a chance to make up some ground on their rivals this weekend. The Blues have won their last five fixtures against Norwich, scoring at least three goals in every game and they are clear favourites at 8/13 to win on Saturday. If £50m striker Fernando Torres can find his shooting boots, Chelsea have every chance of winning the game by two goals or more and, though most bookmakers offer around Evens for Chelsea (-1 goal) in the handicap betting, William Hill’s 29/20 is a very tempting offer.
